A Life Out There

There’s a life out there,
A life so little, a life so small,
A life so innocent, unknown to all.

A life of a little boy counting stars to sleep,
The harshness of the world makes him weep,
Where are those arms to carry him away?
Where are those hands which are raised to pray?
The arms of a father who would always be there,
Hands raised in prayer of a mother who would love and care,
Children with parents; they are the luckiest of all,
Orphans like him are just there to appall
the world. He thought: who cares about him?
The world is nothing but gray and grim.

There’s another life out there,
A life so little,a life so small,
A life so innocent unknown to all.

A life of a little girl looking through her broken window,
Watching the cars on the crowded street go,
If only she could sit in one of those but ah! their family’s low wage,
And her hopes tear off just as the cement on her apartment does with seepage,
Her heart shouts and fearfully screams,
As it witnesses the gradual destruction of her dreams.

Another life is out there, far away,
A life so little, a life so small,
A life so innocent, unknown to all,

A life of a little boy far up in the hills,
Baking corn to get money for his mother’s pills,
His eyes ache with helplessness and despair
His hands burn with the cruelty in the air,
His hands tremble, tears fall from his eyes,
But selfishness separates the world from his cries,
If only he could enjoy like the children to whom he sells corn,
If only he would get smiles instead of all the scorn.

There’s another life out there,
A life which so many wish to live,
A life which has so much to give and give,
A life of a city girl, wealthy and rich,

Yet feels that her life is a deep, dark pitch,
While she enjoys luxurious feasts, a family is starving,
When she lays down to sleep, a potter is carving
pots of sadness; hoping it melts away, while happiness comes her way.
While she lives in a big house, people have nowhere to stay,
Unaware of the orphans crying for the love of parents,
She has with her parents, quarrels and arguments.

These lives out there,
Let’ think for once,
About all the sadness out there,
Let’s change the world’s comeuppance,
Let’s ignite the flame of joy and glory,
Let’s bring in a new chapter to every life story.

There are lives out there,
Lives so little, lives so small,
Lives so innocent unknown to all.
